Margao: South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar in a statement issued on Monday welcomed the resumption of mining in the state.
Extremely happy that mining will resume tomorrow with Sesa commencing its operations in presence of Hon. CM. One more promise fulfilled. Would have been happy to join the function. But duty is calling. Proceeding for Parliament session. My best wishes with the fervent hope that other companies will follow the suit in the interest of the state,”said Sawaikar.
Sawaikar also shared a copy of letter he received earlier this month from the Civil Aviation ministry acknowledging his urgent letter to them requesting for the issues concerning the poor conditions at Dabolim airport be addressed immediately. The Civil Aviation Ministry has assured Sawaikar who incidentally heads a committee on the airport that the matter is being looked into with top priority.
Sawaikar also announced about the special train to Vailankanni.
“As was last year On the occasion of festival special Train to Vailankanni is introduced/declared from vasco on 28th August and will return on 31August and will again leave from Goa on 1st September and will return on 8th September 2015, ” added Sawaikar.
