Vasco: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho revealed that around 98% of the work of grade separator at Dabolim has been completed and that it will be put to use once the airport operations resume in full swing. About the pending work left, the Dabolim MLA, said the work on changes in the turning curve and hotmixing of the road near the grade separator is in progress.
Elaborating on its usage, he said that it’s for the section of the traffic coming from the airport to go outside, for the entry of tankers going for refilling, which needed a separate road at the side, etc.
“The road work is ongoing swiftly. They will have do some changes at the railway bridge on the turning so that the big trailers, which come from Mangor side and going towards Chicalim, have enough space for taking turns etc. Once all this is done, we will put the grade separator in operation” Godinho said.
He admitted that given that the airport is not functioning fully now, there is time to complete the work but reiterated that once the airport operations resume in full swing, the grade separator will be function.
He added that the work should be complete in less than a month’s time.
