MARGAO: Sucaldem Boys and Pool Baretto Veterans XI’s ended their exhibition match in a 3-3 held at Panzorcone ground, Cuncolim, which was organized by Pool Baretto Veterans.
At half time the teams were locked 2-2.
Sucaldem Boys drew first blood soon after the kick off when striker Alliot Antao’s shot kissed the nylons.
Stunned by the early setback, Baretto Veterans changed strategy and leveled the score when former India defender Mahesh Lotlikar beat the rival goalkeeper with a neat placement.
Spurred by the equalizer, Baretto Veterans galvanized the attack with Jermias Baretto nearly finding the target for his team.
Regan Antao put Sucaldem into the lead, but the cheers were however short lived when former Dempo defender Jerry Fernandes nodded home to put his team on equal terms. The second session turned lively as both the teams played attacking soccer.
Roger Pererria made it 3-2 soon after resumption . Midway in the second session Mathew Pereira neutralized the lead with a snap shot . In the dying minutes, Sucaldem Boys had a golden chance to seal the rival fate but Luis Antao ballooned over from close range.
