He said the ODP was passed by Ponda Municipal Council hurriedly in the Friday meeting without much room for suggestions and debate.
Lavoo expressed surprise over passing of the plan. “I was surprised as I required two days to understand little about the plan. How can PMC pass the plan after holding discussion for just 10 minutes”. He said that he required 15 days to understand the plan and that he had several objections. The plan cannot be passed in such a short notice. He said the ODP plan reached PMC office, and on the same day in the evening, the council discussed the plan and within a short span it was passed.
He said if the said ODP for 2026 year is passed, it will create a lot of hue and cry and also lead to people taking to the streets in the form of agitations. He said the plan is builder-friendly and not public-friendly.
He wanted to study the plan further, he said, and it needed to be placed before the public and displayed in the PMC so that people could come out with suggestions. The plan cannot be passed at such a short notice, he reiterated.
