MARGAO: Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has expressed displeasure over the low voltage power being received at Curtorim in recent days. The MLA has alleged that after checking at the transformer point it was revealed that there is low power being received at all points.
The MLA has demanded augmentation or increase in voltage and power as the heat in Goa has been troubling the people. The MLA has also decided to write to the power minister and to meet the chief minister demanding resolution of the problems related to power tariffs, voltage problems and relief from infrastructure problems as soon as possible.
Lourenco has informed that the main line of 11 KVA is receiving as low as 9.9 KVA power presently. “The power substation at Curtorim has also been receiving very low power, presently. 33 KVA line is receiving just about 30 KVA. The power supply to transformer point has to be minimum 220 KVA and what is being received is 210 and 212 presently. The last house in the connection is receiving 104 and 105 voltage which is not enough to even get a tube light and a fan started,” complained Reginaldo.
“The heat has increased so much that air conditioner has become a necessity and if even the fans don’t work the people will suffer,” he said.
