PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar will file his nomination papers from North Goa Parliamentary seat on Monday.
Chodankar, who has launched a unique bicycle campaign in the constituency, will be filing his nomination papers before the North Goa District Election Officer IAS R Menaka on Monday morning.
This will be the first parliamentary election that Chodankar is contesting. Earlier in 2017, he had lost Panjim by-election against former BJP MLA late Manohar Parrikar.
In North, the Congress chief has to battle out against BJP’s four-time MP Shripad Naik. Also in the fray so far are AAP’s Pradeep Padgaonkar, and Shiv Sena chief Jitesh Kamat.
Ruling BJP ally, MGP and Goa Suraksha Manch have also announced to field their candidates.
Further, Congress’ Mapusa candidate Sudhir Kandolkar will also file his nomination papers for the by-elections on Monday afternoon before the returning officer for the constituency.
