MAPUSA: Parish Youth Nuvem registered a hard fought 1-0 win over CDJ Ribander to move into the semis of the 21st Vagator Soccer Cup organised by Vagator PYSC, at Ozran ground, on Sunday.
CDJ Ribander’s Sandesh Kavlekar sent a through pass to Sachin Shirvoikar whose shot was saved by Nuvem keeper Lawrence.
At the other end, Nuvem’s Rogef Colaco half volley hit the horizontal bar and went out of play.
As the match progressed, Ribandar’s Deshank Kunkolkar shot wide of an open pass from Jayendra Kunkolkar.
Before the breather, Sandesh Kavlekar saw his close range effort miss the Nuvem erect by a whisker.
On resumption of play, PY Nuvem’s Rogef Colaco saw his shot being timely flicked over the cross bar by the Ribander keeper.
In the 46th minute, Nuvem’s Francis Colaco’s drop shot dipped into the goal leaving the keeper Elesh Shirvoikar rooted to the ground.
