KAKODA-CURCHOREM: Ambelim Sports Club defeated Guirdolim Club 4-3 via the tie-breaker to lift the 23rd Holy Cross Cup in memory of late Albert J Fernandes organised by Holy Cross Sports Club, Kakoda-Vodlemoll, at Kakoda ground, recently.
Both teams had equal chances to score but failed to score any goals in full time.
In the tie-breaker, Ambelim Sports Club scored through Leslie, Samson, Cleatus and Premson while Joaquim, Mario and Myron converted for Guirdolim Club.
Balkrishna Hodarkar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of FC Goa player Seriton Fernandes, Shrikant Gaonkar , Ali Shaikh, Kishen Sawant, Jhoncy other dignitaries and club officials.
