PANJIM: Shantadurga Cricketers, Betim defeated GIZMOS Gladiators by 14 runs and made it to quarter finals in Group D in the Betim United T-20 cricket Trophy tournament match, at Sports Authority ground (SAG) Campal, on Monday .
Shantadurga Cricketers will now meet Dazzling Boys in quarter-finals.
Batting first, Shantadurga scored 155 runs for the loss of seven wickets in allotted 20 overs.
Robin D’ Souza was the top scorer of the innings with 38 runs followed by Umesh Naik (27), Rajesh (not out 19) and Tinmoy Kubal (18).
The Gizmos bowlers put in a decent performance as Deepraj Naik (2 for 33), Sachin B (2 for 17) and Sonraj Naik (2 for 19) managed to control their opponents.
In reply, Gizmos were restricted to 141 for 8 in 20 overs.
Robin D’Souza of Shantadurga was adjudged as the man-of-the-match.
