PANJIM: In the wake of mushrooming illegal massage parlours along the coastal belt, the government has directed Goa Police to crackdown on the unlawful activity or face action.

While the mission begins on Monday, the government also sought immediate action against illegal touts, hawkers and other nuisances on the beaches.
“If any massage parlour is operating illegally and police fail to take action, the in charges of the respective police stations will be held responsible and face action,” CM told reporters, as he patrolled the Calangute coastal belt on a motorcycle pilot, on Sunday.
He further reiterated the government’s proposal to amend the Police and Tourism Rules so as to ensure that all tourism trades mandatorily obtain no objection from local police stations. “This practice will maintain record of legal activities in future,” he added while insisting that police need to strictly crackdown on all illegal activities in the coastal belt.
The CM has also assured to boost total strength of the police in the coastal belt stating, the local police stations, traffic cells and tourist police unit will be given additional force. Moreover, an important decision is being taken to constitute more police stations in the coastal belt.
