Crocs Rugby Foundation emerged as men champions

BAMBOLIM: Crocs Rugby Foundation emerged champions in the Men’s Contact Rugby 7s, Delhi Hurricanes in Women’s and Magician Foundation in Mixed Touch Rugby categories respectively at the Goa 7s International Rugby Festival 2025, which concluded at the Bambolim Athletic Stadium, recently.
In the men’s contact final, Crocs RFC (Goa) held their nerve in a tight contest to defeat Delhi Hurricanes 15-10 and lift the Goa 7s Season II crown.
Black Arches finished third, while Kerala Wolfpack placed fourth, rounding off a highly competitive men’s category.
In the women’s contact final, Delhi Hurricanes Women produced a dominant performance to defeat Crocs RFC (Goa) 32-0, showcasing superior pace and structure to finish the tournament in style. Kerala Wolfpack claimed third place, with BRC (Bangalore Rugby Club) taking fourth.
In the mixed touch final, Magician Foundation edged Colombo Open (Sri Lanka) 3–2 in a closely fought encounter. Bengaluru Pink finished third, while Colombo Legends (Sri Lanka) secured fourth place.
The classification matches earlier in the afternoon saw: Future Hope beat BRC 12-0 in the men’s 5th/6th playoff, J&K Volunteers overcome Crocs RFC 3-0 in the mixed 5th/6th match, Black Arches defeat Kerala Wolfpack 30-5 in the mixed 3rd/4th playoff and Kerala Wolfpack Women beat BRC 5-0 in the women’s 3rd/4th playoff.
The two-day festival supported by the Goa Tourism and Goa Arts and Culture Departments featured teams and players from Sri Lanka, UK, USA, France, Spain, Australia, South Africa, Nepal and India, and aimed at positioning Goa as an emerging hub for rugby and sports tourism in Asia.
“Goa 7s is more than just a tournament – it is the beginning of a new sporting culture and a movement in Goa,” said Brandan Crasto, Founder of Goa 7s and President of Crocotryles Rugby Foundation, while thanking stakeholders, sponsors, volunteers and fans for their support.
