Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s scheduled December visit to India has been postponed over security concerns in the aftermath of the recent blast in Delhi, reported Israel’s I24News, quoted by ANI. The announcement follows Netanyahu’s message of solidarity, praising the shared resilience of both nations against terrorism. The November 10 explosion near the Red Fort claimed at least 15 lives and left several injured, with the probe uncovering a suspected “white-collar terror network.”
The development comes soon after Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal’s three-day visit to Israel, during which he met Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog as Free Trade Agreement (FTA) discussions gained pace. Goyal emphasised cooperation in trade, technology, and innovation, highlighting the signing of the Terms of Reference to formally launch FTA negotiations. Netanyahu last visited India in 2018, a landmark visit following Prime Minister Modi’s 2017 trip to Israel.
