Panjim: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has ruled out any action, not even a preliminary inquiry against police officials for their brutal high handedness on Black Saturday November 21 when peaceful Goans, who had assembled to democratically protest, including several senior citizens (men and women) were roughed up, manhandled ans shoved into police vans
When questioned on the issue, by the Herald, the CMsaid  “there have been no brutalities by the police.”
“I asked for a report from police and I am informed that no lathicharge or assault happened on people. When you challenge the police when Sec 144 is in place what do you expect police to do? What they did was only put people in the van and take them to some other destination,” he asserted.
CM also stated that there was no reason for people to agitate. “The issue is simply blown out of proportion.”
