The Goa Cyber Crime Police have arrested a 34-year-old man from Dharwad for allegedly running an online harassment and extortion campaign against his former girlfriend using her private photographs and videos.
Police identified the accused as Kuber, who is alleged to have stored the woman’s intimate content during their past relationship. After their breakup, he reportedly weaponised the material to shame, threaten and extort her. The survivor, a Nepalese national residing in Caranzalem, filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police after the harassment escalated.

Investigators said Kuber used multiple fake identities and several WhatsApp numbers to conceal his tracks. He also allegedly created fake Instagram and Facebook profiles to circulate the woman’s private content among people known to her.
The probe further revealed that he demanded sexual favours and coerced the survivor into transferring ₹35,000 through UPI to two bank accounts under his control.
Based on technical surveillance, Cyber Crime teams tracked him down in Dharwad and arrested him. According to officers, Kuber confessed that he carried out the harassment as an act of “revenge” following the breakup.
The investigation is ongoing.
