Goa politics’ numero-uno power couple, Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, on Sunday expressed strong confidence that their Zilla Panchayat (ZP) candidates would secure a thumping victory, citing tireless groundwork by their teams.
Speaking to the media during polling, Delilah Lobo was seen flashing a victory sign, asserting that voters had responded positively to the sustained on-ground efforts and connect established by their candidates.
Her husband, senior BJP leader and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, predicted a robust voter turnout, stating that Parra could witness nearly 70 per cent polling, while Arpora and adjoining areas were expected to record at least 65 per cent turnout. He added that high participation would reflect public confidence in leadership focused on development and people-centric governance.
Political observers noted that the couple’s remarks underline the significance of voter engagement and grassroots mobilisation in determining outcomes of the ZP elections across key constituencies.
