Polling for the ongoing Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections witnessed a steady voter turnout across several booths in Calangute during the morning hours, according to booth-wise data available till late morning.
At Calangute Booth No. 07, a total of 197 voters had cast their ballots, comprising 97 male and 95 female voters, out of a total electorate of 820 voters, indicating a turnout of around 24 per cent.

Meanwhile, Booth No. 06 recorded 173 votes between 8 am and 11.45 am, with 92 male and 81 female voters participating. Officials said this translated to approximately 25 per cent voter turnout during the initial hours of polling.
At Calangute Booth No. 11, polling figures showed 106 male and 79 female voters casting their votes between 8 am and 11.45 am, taking the total turnout to 24.86 per cent.
Election officials stated that polling was progressing smoothly across all booths, with voter participation expected to rise as the day advances. Citizens were urged to step out and exercise their franchise to strengthen grassroots democracy.
