CMC councillor Shubham Komarpant, along with the Assistant Engineer and officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), conducted a joint inspection of the Parvem–Agonda bridge following an accident last night in which a foreign tourist reportedly fell into the river from the bridge.
During the inspection—also attended by local social leaders—the PWD Assistant Engineer assured that safety railings will be installed on both sides of the bridge. Reflective boards will also be placed to improve visibility and prevent similar incidents.
Local residents thanked Komarpant for his swift intervention on the issue, noting that he stepped in to help despite the bridge not falling under his municipal jurisdiction. They expressed hope that the promised safety measures will be implemented at the earliest to protect commuters.
