The Konkani music scene in 2025 witnessed an extraordinary surge of creativity, energy, and global recognition. Goan bands not only captivated audiences at home with their vibrant originals and performances but also took their music beyond India, performing in different cities and countries. From viral hits to unforgettable live shows at weddings, festivals, and corporate events, these bands are now focusing on fresh originals and international tours in 2026. THE 7 NOTES BAND The most viral Konkani video of the year, ‘Dukota’ was released by The 7 Notes Band before they would embark on their UK tour. Myron Lucas, the lead vocalist and songwriter of the 7 Notes Band, says that the journey in 2025 was an exciting one. From performing before a massive crowd of over 15,000 people at the Big Fat Fatorda Carnival, the band went on to perform ‘Dukota’, their first Konkani Goan Afro original, at Eggzotic Easter. This was followed by performances during São João celebrations in both Goa and Mumbai. ‘Dukota’ proved to be a banger, loved by audiences across all age groups, and even became a trend. “In a short span of time, we took off for the United Kingdom, where we performed a couple of shows and even got English audiences dancing to the song. After returning to Goa, we had continuous gigs and soon travelled to Bahrain and Dubai to perform for Nachoia Goa. Along the way, we released several cover songs that received a strong response. We plan to do more in the future,” says Myron The band performed for Halloween, drawing a good crowd and great vibes. They had also been planning their own Christmas event for a long time, and after months of preparation, the event turned out to be a grand success. They named it The Christmas Royale. In 2026, the band plans to release more covers as well as original music, with touring set to continue as long as the love for their music keeps growing. “For 2026 we have a few more covers and some originals as well and touring won’t stop as people’s love towards our music does not stop,” says Myron optimistically.

BIG CITY BAND In 2025, Big City Band had a busy year marked by several high-profile performances, including multiple destination weddings in Coorg and Mangalore, Karnataka. Speaking about the experience, Bass player Myron Estibeiro shares, “Performing at these weddings was especially memorable, as we were able to connect with Coorgies and Mangaloreans alike. It was an absolute fun. The year also saw the release of two original Konkani songs. One was ‘Avoi Muje Mai’, a playful love song about a young boy smitten with a girl and willing to do anything to win her attention. The second, ‘Goem Amchem (Our Goa)’, was a heartfelt tribute to Goa’s green villages and to the heart, soul, and heritage of the land. The response to both songs was overwhelmingly positive. “By the end of 2025, the two releases together had garnered 370,537 curated views on YouTube, while audio streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music recorded around 180,000 streams. In addition, a single released in 2024 has continued to gain popularity, crossing 1.3 million views to date and becoming one of the most-played Konkani songs among modern listeners. In 2026, the band has a packed calendar with multiple Goan weddings, several outstation shows outside Goa, and a number of corporate gigs already lined up. Alongside live performances, new music remains a priority. “The band is currently working on an album planned for release in 2026, featuring six original songs. It’s something we’ve been aspiring to do for the last three years. The band is very much looking forward it,” he says.
BLACK SAPPHIRE For Black Sapphire, 2025 marked a standout year both creatively and on stage. Their biggest release, ‘Rosalina’, emerged as a defining moment, resonating strongly with Konkani music listeners across Goa. Alison Gonsalves, the lead singer of the band says, “Our biggest release, ‘Rosalina’, truly took Goa by storm, and the love and response from Konkani music listeners has been overwhelming and deeply humbling.” The year was equally busy in terms of live performances. November and December were especially packed, with the band performing at numerous weddings, festivals, and large-scale events. Beyond Goa, they also took their music to cities such as Mumbai and Bangalore. The extensive performing schedule helped the band grow both musically and as performers. Looking ahead in 2026, the band is currently planning a few international performances, with details still being finalised. Alison informs, “We have a few exciting international performances lined up, along with several major events back home. Most importantly, 2026 will be a strong year for original music, with multiple new originals planned, as we continue to grow our sound and deliver fresh music to our audience.”
CLAY JARS 2025 stood out as one of the most memorable years in Clay Jars’ journey so far. Reflecting on the season, Silvestre Da Silva, manager of the band says, “It was a truly wonderful year. 2025 saw the band make its international debut in two countries, lighting up stages in both the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates”. According to Silvestre, performing for international audiences was a defining experience and a major step forward in the band’s growth. Among the highlights of the year was the release of the song ‘Baby Girl’, which drew tremendous love and encouragement from well-wishers. The positive response reaffirmed the band’s creative direction and motivated them to keep producing new music. Alongside their releases, the band maintained an active performance schedule and is set to appear at several events throughout the year, with the main highlight being their second tour to the United Kingdom in 2026. Looking ahead, the band is already working on a new song, building on the momentum of 2025.
FOREFRONT For Forefront, 2025 was a steady and rewarding year marked by a wide range of performances. Their live shows spanned weddings, corporate parties, festivals, and private events, allowing them to connect with diverse audiences across different settings. Reflecting on the year, Seby Pinto, bass guitarist and vocalist describes it positively, saying, “2025 was good.” The closing months of 2025 featured some notable highlights. Among the major events were performances at the Ramponkaranche Festival in Arambol, and a New Year’s Eve show at a five star resort. Seby is hoping it will be even better in 2026.
BLACK IN WHITE Black In White marked a milestone year as the band completed seven years of its musical journey in 2025. Founder and keyboardist Royston Noel says, “We have transformed our journey from Goan weddings to take on destination weddings and corporate events.” One of the standout moments was performing in the United Kingdom before a crowd of over 10,000 people. The band also travelled multiple times to Dubai and Thailand for destination weddings, further strengthening its international presence. Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be even more expansive, with performances planned in newer countries. Royston shares that Black In White has always been known for setting trends in music, and hinted that “2026 is going to be something special and different.” The band also made a strong impact with a gospel cover mashup of ‘Thank You Lord’ and ‘Argham Tuka Somia’.
