CM Sawant Assures Timely Municipal Elections, Says Reservations Fall Under State Election Commission

Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai raised concerns in the Legislative Assembly regarding the issue of reservations in municipal bodies, seeking clarity from the government on the matter. Highlighting the importance of transparency and timely action, Sardesai questioned the status of reservation decisions ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.

Responding to the issue, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured the House that the determination of reservations for municipal elections falls under the jurisdiction of the State Election Commission. He further stated that the government would not interfere in the process and that municipal elections in Goa would be conducted on time.
