Adequate number of dust bins required in Vasco

It is said that habits die hard. That is probably the reason why people tend to dispose their garbage in the open even where are no dust-bins around.

It is said that habits die hard. That is probably the reason why people tend to dispose their garbage in the open even where are no dust-bins around. Even a sign board which reads “No-Garbage Zone” does not deter the people from throwing their garbage in the open as is the case with this sign-board located along the F.L. Gomes road opposite the Tilak Maidan in the heart of the city. In the absence of sufficient number of dust-bins people do not think twice about depositing their garbage along the road-side which presents a sore-sight. The only solution to the problem would be by way of the civic body providing adequate number of dust-bins in the city where the citizens can deposit their garbage. Besides the door-to-door collection of garbage, installing dust-bins in the city is also necessary. Vasco being a bin-less city is a far cry. Hopefully the newly elected and recently installed Municipal council in the Port Town will look into all aspects of the garbage problem in the city with all the seriousness it deserves.
