Actor Rajpal Yadav, celebrated for his comic roles in films such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Hungama, and Welcome, is currently facing a challenging phase marked by legal and financial pressures. In a supportive gesture, music producer Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav, owner of GemTunes Music, has reportedly extended financial assistance of Rs 1.11 crore to help the actor manage his obligations.
Rajpal Yadav’s troubles stem from a cheque bounce case dating back to around 2010, when he and his wife borrowed nearly Rs 5 crore to finance his directorial project Ata Pata Laapata. After the film failed commercially, repayment became difficult, leading to multiple dishonoured cheques and prolonged legal proceedings under the Negotiable Instruments Act. With interest and penalties accumulating over the years, the outstanding amount reportedly rose to nearly Rs 9 crore. Recently, the Delhi High Court directed the actor to surrender and serve a six-month sentence in Tihar Jail after further relief was denied.
