Mohammed Shahabuddin has accused former chief adviser Muhammad Yunus of sidelining the presidency and violating constitutional norms during the tenure of the interim government, according to an interview with Bengali daily Kaler Kantho.
Shahabuddin alleged that Yunus failed to maintain institutional coordination and did not keep him informed about key state decisions, including foreign visits, agreements and major policy moves. He claimed repeated attempts were made to politically and administratively isolate him.

The President said constitutional provisions requiring consultation were ignored, noting Yunus travelled abroad 14–15 times without briefing him. Shahabuddin also claimed he was unaware of a major agreement with the United States.
Alleging deliberate marginalisation, he said even his foreign invitations and public visibility were curtailed. Despite the tensions, Shahabuddin said he remained in office to uphold constitutional continuity.
