Bengaluru police arrested 11 people, including a woman actor and social media influencer, over the alleged kidnapping, assault, and robbery of Kannada director TA Anish. The incident followed a financial dispute involving unpaid loans and investment disagreements related to his film Jeevanada Bhashe.
Anish, originally from Tamil Nadu, filed a complaint on February 11 after sustaining injuries to his hands and legs. Police said he had traveled from Mumbai to Bengaluru to sell his car and was lured to a house near Indiranagar, where five to six people attacked him with cricket stumps and hockey sticks. They demanded he withdraw earlier complaints and delete evidence.
He was robbed of gold ornaments weighing 22 grams and Rs 30,000, later taken to an isolated area near Mandaragiri Hill for further assault. Investigators said an accused, Lakshmi Narayan, instigated part of the attack via video call. The group also attempted to extort Rs 5 lakh. Recovered items include mobiles, gold, cash, and a car.
