Tension prevailed at Pajemol in Sanguem after a large number of Mirabag protesters gheraoed Water Resources Department (WRD) officer Shantaram Gaonkar, Assistant Engineer, during a demonstration in the area.
According to sources, the protesters confronted the WRD official over issues concerning the Mirabag project and sought immediate clarification and action from the department. The gathering led to a brief standoff as agitators surrounded the officer and pressed for their demands to be addressed.
