The Goa Police have registered a case after three inmates allegedly assaulted an undertrial prisoner inside Block No. 4 of Central Jail Colvale on February 25 at around 6 pm.
According to police sources, the accused inmates — Narayan alias Babu Bhalekar, Sagar Patil, and Manthan Chari — allegedly attacked undertrial prisoner Simachal Parida within the jail premises. The assault reportedly resulted in Parida sustaining a fracture injury to his jaw.

Following the incident, a formal complaint was registered at Colvale Police Station, and an investigation has been initiated into the matter. Authorities are expected to review security arrangements and record statements as part of the ongoing probe.
