India on Saturday issued a security advisory for its citizens living in Israel following joint airstrikes by Israel and the United States on Iran, which have sharply escalated tensions in the region. The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv urged all nationals to remain vigilant and exercise utmost caution amid the evolving security situation.
In its statement, the Embassy advised Indian citizens to strictly follow safety instructions issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. Nationals were also asked to stay close to designated shelters and identify the nearest protected spaces at their homes or workplaces.
The advisory further recommended avoiding non-essential travel within Israel until further notice. Citizens were encouraged to closely monitor local news, official announcements, and emergency alerts.
The Embassy assured continued support through its 24×7 helpline and said it remains in constant touch with relevant authorities.
The warning comes after powerful explosions rocked Tehran following what Israel described as preventive missile strikes. Reports suggested missiles hit areas along University Street and the Jomhouri district, with smoke seen near Pasteur Street, home to key government buildings. Both countries have since closed their airspace as tensions mount.
