Residents of Davondem on Tuesday met Madhu Narvekar, Chief Officer of the Margao Municipal Council, to raise objections over a proposed mega housing project comprising 296 flats.
During the meeting, locals demanded that an immediate stop-work notice be issued for the project.

Responding to their concerns, Narvekar assured the residents that all legal documents related to the project would be verified and that a site inspection would be conducted before any further action.
The residents strongly opposed the development, stating that they would not allow any project that could adversely impact the village’s ecosystem.
They also warned of intensified protests if their concerns are not addressed, highlighting growing resistance to large-scale construction in the area.
