In a late-night incident, youths from Casarvarnem in Pernem intercepted a vehicle allegedly transporting cattle illegally for slaughter and handed it over to the Mopa Police Station for further action.
According to sources, the vehicle carrying 12 cattle was stopped at around 2:15 AM by alert locals, who suspected illegal transportation. The group subsequently informed the police and ensured the vehicle was taken into custody.

Those involved in intercepting the vehicle have been identified as Shubham Keni, Kundan Parab, Akshay Gad, Kumar Valmiki, Adesh Naik, Vinod Sawant, Akshay Raul, and Sagun Sawant.
Police have since seized the vehicle and initiated an investigation to verify the legality of the transportation and identify those responsible.
Further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing probe.
