Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ritesh Naik filed his nomination for the upcoming Ponda by-election on Monday, marking a show of strength with the presence of senior party leaders and a large number of supporters.
The nomination was filed in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, BJP Goa State President Damu Naik, WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar, and Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.
Also present on the occasion were MLA Govind Gaude and BJP leader Siddharth Kunkalkar, along with several other party workers and supporters who gathered in large numbers to back the candidate.
The filing of the nomination signals the BJP’s formal entry into the electoral contest, with the party projecting unity and confidence ahead of the by-poll.
