A controversy has erupted in Margao after sharp allegations were levelled against PWD Minister Digambar Kamat over issues related to a Ganesh pandal site.
In a statement, youth leader Prabhav Naik, associated with Madganvcho Awaaz, accused Kamat of undermining faith and tradition. He alleged that recent actions—from the Shree Ganesh pandal controversy to creating a nuisance outside the Shree Ganesh Temple at Aquem Ring Road—have hurt religious sentiments.

Naik further claimed that there was an attempt to demolish a revered पूजा venue used for the Margao Municipal Sarvajanik Shree Ganeshotsav in order to facilitate the construction of a two-storeyed structure.
The allegations have sparked debate locally, with concerns being raised about the preservation of traditional religious spaces and practices. No official response from the minister had been reported at the time of filing this report.
