A complaint-driven inspection campaign in Gogol and Rawanfond areas of Salcete has exposed serious food safety violations, leading to the seizure of 450 kg of farsan valued at ₹85,000 from three manufacturing units.
During the drive, authorities discovered multiple irregularities across the units. One facility was found operating without a valid licence and under unhygienic conditions. Officials immediately ordered its closure and imposed a fine of ₹10,000.

In another case, inspectors identified expired food stock worth ₹18,000 being stored at a unit, raising concerns over public health and safety standards.
A third manufacturing unit was penalised for using synthetic colouring in food preparation. The contaminated stock was detained, and the operator was fined ₹5,000.
Officials stated that the inspection was initiated following complaints from residents and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring strict compliance with food safety regulations in the region.
