A 61-year-old man from Thivim is feared to have drowned after he reportedly went fishing near his house on Sunday evening.
The missing man has been identified as Narendra Sawant, a resident of Thivim. The incident was reported near St. Christopher’s Church in Bardez at around 6.20 pm.

According to available information, Sawant had gone fishing near the Manas area in front of his residence when he allegedly drowned in the river.
Personnel from the Goa Fire and Emergency Services Mapusa station, led by S.S. Shetgaonkar, launched a late-night search and rescue operation in an attempt to trace him.
However, despite efforts by the rescue team, Sawant could not be located. The search operation is expected to continue on Monday.
