Parishioners of Our Lady of Snows Church accorded a warm welcome to Agnelo Pinheiro along with Auxiliary Bishop Simão Fernandes and several priests on Sunday at the church premises in Raia.
The visiting Bishop was formally welcomed by Fr. Januario D’Costa, Parish Priest of the church, in the presence of clergy, religious members, parishioners and a large number of faithful.

Earlier, students of St. Theresa Convent High School at Ganpoga, Raia, along with a brass band, presented a traditional welcome to Bishop Agnelo Pinheiro upon his arrival.
Delivering the homily during the Thanksgiving Mass, Bishop Agnelo Pinheiro emphasised the importance of leading a life rooted in hope and faith. He encouraged the faithful to continue the mission of Lord Jesus Christ and reminded them that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to become true messengers of Christ.
He urged the congregation to spread the Word of God and to lead lives marked by simplicity, love and compassion. The Bishop also called on the faithful to keep their focus on Heaven and become witnesses of Christ through both their words and actions.
The Thanksgiving Mass at Our Lady of Snows Church witnessed the participation of a large number of parishioners and devotees who gathered in prayer, thanksgiving and celebration for the Bishop and the Diocese of Sindhudurg.
Following the religious service, a cultural programme was organised as part of the celebrations.
