Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are unlikely to organise a victory parade in Bengaluru after securing their second successive IPL title. Rajat Patidar’s side defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets on Sunday to become only the third franchise after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to win back-to-back IPL trophies.
According to reports, the decision is influenced by Bengaluru Police guidelines introduced after the tragic stampede that followed RCB’s maiden IPL triumph last year. The incident claimed 11 lives and left several others injured.

An RCB source told PTI that public celebrations are highly unlikely as the franchise intends to comply with existing restrictions. The upcoming swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister-designate DK Shivakumar is also expected to attract huge crowds near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, making a victory parade difficult to organise.
Captain Rajat Patidar dedicated the title win to the victims of the stampede, saying the trophy belonged to the fans who lost their lives in the tragedy.
The emotional scars of the incident continue to linger. IPL 2026 marked the return of top-flight cricket to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium after last year’s tragedy. Reports suggested RCB were initially reluctant to host all their home fixtures at the venue and consequently shifted a portion of their matches to Raipur during the season.
