Top leaders of the INDIA alliance met in New Delhi on Monday and underlined the importance of opposition unity while announcing several key decisions on electoral issues, education and the economy.
The meeting took place at the Constitution Club and was attended by leaders from multiple opposition parties, including Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, Kharge said the alliance had unanimously agreed to write to the Chief Justice of India over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, which opposition parties have criticised.
Another major decision was the demand for the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The INDIA bloc also urged the Centre to call an all-party meeting to discuss the country’s economic condition and concerns affecting ordinary citizens.
To ensure closer coordination among member parties, the alliance resolved to meet once every two months. Parliamentary strategy and floor coordination will also be strengthened through daily meetings among opposition leaders.
The meeting was viewed as an important attempt by the opposition to close ranks amid signs of strain among some alliance partners. Leaders maintained that safeguarding democratic values, protecting electoral integrity and addressing economic concerns would remain central to the bloc’s agenda in the coming months.
