A war of words has broken out between Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz and MLA Venzy Viegas, with both leaders accusing each other of failing to serve the interests of the people.
MLA Venzy Viegas alleged that Sarpanch Dixon Vaz, with the backing of the BJP, was “destroying” Cavelossim village through his actions and decisions, raising concerns over the direction of local governance and development.

Responding to the allegations, Dixon Vaz dismissed the criticism as a politically motivated attempt to damage his reputation ahead of the upcoming elections. He claimed that the MLA’s remarks were aimed at securing political mileage rather than addressing the concerns of the people.
Vaz further accused Viegas of failing to fulfil several promises allegedly made to the electorate. He claimed that commitments relating to free electricity and free education remain unfulfilled and questioned the MLA’s performance in delivering development projects within the constituency.
The Sarpanch also alleged that Viegas had undertaken little significant development work and was unfairly targeting those actively working for the welfare and progress of the village.
The exchange has added to the growing political tension in Cavelossim, with both leaders publicly defending their records while criticising each other’s performance as the political atmosphere in the constituency continues to intensify.
