Digambar Kamat Assures Relief as Margao Residents Raise Concerns Over Inflated Electricity Bills

PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, accompanied by residents of Margao, met Electricity Department official Rajiv Samant to discuss complaints regarding unusually high electricity bills that have sparked concern among consumers.

During the meeting, residents expressed dissatisfaction over the steep bills, claiming that the charges were excessive and unfair. Kamat echoed these concerns, describing the bills as unjust and assuring consumers that their grievances would be taken up at the highest level.

The minister said he would raise the issue with the Chief Minister as well as the party president and make every effort to find a solution that provides relief to affected electricity consumers.

Kamat emphasised the need for a fair and transparent resolution, stating that consumers should not be subjected to undue financial burden. He assured residents that their concerns would be addressed through discussions with the government and the Electricity Department.

The meeting comes amid increasing complaints from consumers across Goa over inflated electricity bills, with demands growing for corrective measures and a review of the billing process to ensure that genuine consumers are not adversely affected.
