The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is gearing up for a large-scale teacher recruitment drive that is expected to fill nearly 60,000 vacancies in Basic Education Council schools across the state.
The initiative aims to tackle the shortage of teachers in both urban and rural government schools and improve classroom staffing levels.According to officials, vacancy details from urban areas have already been submitted to the commission, while data from rural districts is currently being compiled.

Once the complete report is finalised, the recruitment process is expected to move forward.Of the total vacancies, 11,508 teaching posts are vacant in urban schools, while rural regions account for more than 48,000 unfilled positions. The recruitment drive is expected to attract a large number of candidates seeking government teaching jobs.Although the official notification has not yet been released, preparations are progressing rapidly. Aspirants are advised to monitor official announcements regarding eligibility criteria, application schedules and selection procedures. The recruitment exercise is expected to strengthen the state’s education system by improving teacher availability across government schools.
