AIFF Asks ISL Clubs to Confirm Participation by July 20

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has directed all 14 Indian Super League (ISL) clubs to confirm their participation for the upcoming season by July 20, while also paying the first instalment of the league participation fee.

In an email sent to the clubs on Thursday, AIFF Deputy Secretary General M. Satyanarayan stated that each club must submit written confirmation of participation along with the first instalment of Rs 55 lakh. The federation described both requirements as mandatory prerequisites for taking part in the country’s premier football competition.

The AIFF has further instructed clubs to pay the remaining Rs 55 lakh as the second instalment on or before August 14, completing the total participation fee for the season.

According to the communication, the payment schedule has been finalised after considering the operational, commercial and regulatory requirements needed to organise the league efficiently. The federation stressed that timely compliance is essential to ensure smooth planning and execution of the competition.

“The above timeline has been arrived at, keeping in view the operational, commercial and regulatory timelines necessary for the successful organisation of the league,” Satyanarayan said in the email.

He also made it clear that the federation will not entertain any requests for extensions, waivers or deferred compliance beyond the stipulated deadlines.

The communication comes as preparations gather pace for the upcoming ISL season, with clubs expected to complete all administrative formalities within the prescribed timeline to secure their place in the competition. Failure to comply with the deadlines could jeopardise a club’s participation in India’s top-flight football league.
