The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to conduct a comprehensive review of the senior men’s team’s performances following India’s disappointing T20I series defeat against England. According to ANI, the board will evaluate both the players and the coaching staff after India suffered consecutive series losses.
India’s latest setback came in the fourth T20I against England, where Shreyas Iyer’s side was outplayed by nine wickets in Bristol, conceding the series after another one-sided performance. The defeat extended India’s poor run in the shortest format and has reportedly prompted the BCCI to reassess the team’s direction.

The coaching staff, led by head coach Gautam Gambhir, will also come under evaluation. Gambhir, whose contract runs until 2027, is reportedly facing increased scrutiny after India lost successive T20I series against Ireland and England. The support staff includes batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, bowling coach Morne Morkel, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate, fielding coach T Dileep and strength and conditioning coach Adrian le Roux.
India have failed to register a single T20I victory since lifting their third T20 World Cup title earlier this year. The defeat to Ireland marked the first-ever bilateral T20I series loss against them before England inflicted another comprehensive series defeat.
The team’s struggles overseas have raised concerns over selection decisions, tactics and consistency. Questions have also been raised over replacing World Cup-winning captain Suryakumar Yadav with Shreyas Iyer, while Gambhir’s tactical calls have come under criticism.
Against England, the opening T20I was washed out before India lost the next three matches, including a record 125-run defeat after being bowled out for just 76 in the third T20I.
