Harshit Rana suffers fresh injury, set to miss England ODI series: Report

India pacer Harshit Rana has reportedly suffered another injury setback just days after returning to international cricket, with a report claiming he is likely to miss the upcoming three-match ODI series against England starting on July 14.

According to India Today, the 24-year-old has sustained a hamstring injury after recently recovering from a prolonged knee problem that had kept him out of action for nearly four months. The latest setback raises fresh concerns over the fast bowler’s fitness, with the Indian team management viewing him as a long-term all-format prospect.

Harshit made his international comeback during the T20I series against Ireland, where he impressed by claiming four wickets in two matches. He followed that up with three wickets in the ongoing T20I series against England. However, he managed to bowl only 14 overs across the two series before the hamstring issue forced him out.

The report further stated that Harshit has been directed to report to the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for further assessment and rehabilitation.

The latest injury adds to a frustrating year for the Kolkata Knight Riders pacer. Earlier, he missed both IPL 2026 and India’s victorious T20 World Cup campaign due to his knee injury. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy has also been ruled out of the ongoing T20I series against England with a hamstring injury.

The BCCI is yet to issue an official statement regarding Harshit’s condition or announce a replacement for the ODI squad. A clearer picture on the severity of the injury and his expected recovery timeline is likely to emerge after further medical evaluation.
