Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said Goa’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) rank among the best in the country, highlighting that Goa is the only state where all ITIs are ISO certified. He announced that the government is investing ₹180 crore to further strengthen vocational education infrastructure across the state.
Addressing a function, the Chief Minister said ITI students have the potential to become successful entrepreneurs and industrialists, stressing that vocational education should be viewed as a pathway to skill and excellence rather than as a second-choice career option.

Dr. Sawant also highlighted several reforms introduced in the ITI sector, including collaborations with colleges and the introduction of Goa Board equivalency certificates. Under the new system, students who complete Class 10 along with a two-year ITI course will now be recognised as equivalent to Class 12, enabling them to pursue higher education and access improved employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister also congratulated Goa’s teachers and students for their achievements at the national level, including award recipients and academic toppers. He praised the commitment of contract teachers and assured them that the government would prioritise the confirmation of their services.
Dr. Sawant further congratulated Goan athletes who won gold medals at the World Yogasana Competition, describing their success as a proud achievement for the state and an inspiration for aspiring sportspersons.
