The Ministry of Railways has launched the beta version of the revamped IRCTC website, introducing a simpler and more user-friendly ticket booking experience. The new portal became accessible to users from 9 pm on Wednesday, with railway officials inviting passengers to share feedback to help improve the platform further.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had announced last month that the upgraded website would be launched by July 15 after students and other passengers complained about delays and difficulties while booking train tickets.

According to the Railways Ministry, the beta website introduces four major improvements. One of the key changes is the removal of unnecessary captchas, pop-ups, flashing graphics and other distracting elements, making navigation smoother.
The platform also displays seat availability across all travel classes on a single screen, allowing passengers to compare options more conveniently before booking.
Another improvement is a streamlined checkout process, reducing the number of steps required to complete a reservation and making bookings faster.
Additionally, the website saves passenger details after the first booking, enabling quicker repeat bookings without re-entering the same information. Officials said the beta version is aimed at improving the overall user experience and encouraged passengers to test the new features and provide suggestions before the platform’s full rollout.
