BJP State General Secretary and former MP Adv. Narendra Sawaikar has clarified his controversial social media post, asserting that his remarks were never intended to target Goan youth or students participating in protests.
Addressing reporters, Sawaikar said his reference to “termites” was a general metaphor describing destructive elements that weaken systems from within, much like termites damage homes. He maintained that the comment was not directed at any specific group or section of society.

The former MP alleged that opposition parties, including the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), had deliberately misinterpreted his personal social media post to gain political mileage.
Sawaikar explained that he frequently shares creative thoughts, poems and general observations on social media, and insisted that the post in question had been taken out of context. He urged his critics to refrain from creating unnecessary controversy over what he described as a metaphorical statement.
The clarification comes amid criticism from opposition leaders and youth groups, who had accused Sawaikar of insulting young people over the now-controversial “termites” remark.
