Panjim police have registered an FIR against about 1,000 unidentified persons for allegedly assembling without permission and holding a protest at Azad Maidan, following a complaint by the Mamlatdar. The demonstration was organised in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike and protest in Delhi.
Authorities say the gathering violated rules requiring prior permission for public meetings, and action has been taken under relevant sections of the law.
