Implement order to issue construction licence, principal urges Benaulim VP

The Principal of St Anne’s High School, Benaulim has appealed to the Benaulim Panchayat to implement the order of the Director of Panchayat to issue construction licence to the school building.
Principal Vas Falcao said that all documental asked by the Panchayat body has been submitted as per rules and regulations and appealed to the panchayat not to fall prey to a few elements, who wish to make trouble for the school which is in existence for the last 10 years, catering to the needs of students from Benaulim and surrounding villages.
He said that all the school authorities have been asking for is permission for a new building to replace an old dilapidated house. “If this is not done immediately before the monsoons, the old house can pose danger to the little kindergarten children. Also when the old house is demolished, it will provide extra place for parking and playing for the little children”, the Principal said, and appealed to the Panchayat authorities to stop immediately these acts of alleged harassment and intimidation towards staff and students of the school.
He hoped that better sense prevail and the stalemate between the Panchayat authorities and school may be resolved at the earliest so that the children from Benaulim constituency as well as from Utorda, Majorda, Betalbatim, Colva, Varca, Orlim, Carmona and Cavelossim are not put to any hardships in view of the fast approaching monsoons.
