Congress leader Amit Palekar has said objections have been raised before the Goa High Court and election authorities over attempts by rival political groups to use the name “Goa Congress”.
Palekar said such attempts could confuse voters and give an unfair political advantage during elections. He argued that the use of similar names by rival factions could create uncertainty among voters and affect the electoral process.
The High Court has issued notices to the respondents in the matter. The case is scheduled to come up for hearing on September 22, 2026.
