Four people, including two women, have been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly stripping and assaulting a woman over the non-payment of loan interest. The accused reportedly filmed the assault and threatened to circulate the video online.
The accused have been identified as Nazrath, Reshma, Suheil and Saif.
According to reports, the victim had borrowed ₹1 lakh from Reshma two years ago and had allegedly failed to pay the interest for the past six months.
She had also borrowed ₹50,000 from Nazrath, whom she reportedly knew through Reshma. The woman had been paying ₹5,000 every week towards the loan but was unable to make payments for around four weeks due to financial difficulties.
Fearing further harassment, the woman reportedly blocked Reshma’s number and moved to another location. During this period, Nazrath allegedly contacted her and offered her work and financial assistance.
The woman subsequently went to Nazrath’s house, where she was allegedly abused and assaulted by Suheil. The accused also allegedly stripped her, recorded the incident and threatened to share the video online.
Police have arrested all four accused in connection with the incident, and further investigation is underway.
