The Goa High Court has expressed displeasure with the state government for failing to file an affidavit in a public interest litigation (PIL) challenging the replacement of an old casino vessel in the River Mandovi with a new vessel of higher capacity.
The PIL has been filed by ‘Enough Is Enough’, which has raised concerns over the proposed replacement of the existing casino vessel.

During the hearing, the High Court took note of the government’s failure to submit its affidavit and granted the state a final opportunity to file the required response.
The court has scheduled the matter for final hearing on September 29.
The case will now come up for consideration after the government files its affidavit, setting out its position on the replacement of the casino vessel.
