Former Chennai Super Kings player Vansh Bedi has denied reports linking him to allegations of match-fixing and IPL team lineup leaks, describing the claims circulating on social media and websites as false and defamatory.
Bedi, who represented Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 Indian Premier League season, issued a statement amid an ongoing controversy surrounding alleged irregularities connected to the Delhi Premier League and claims involving a CSK player.

The wicketkeeper-batter categorically denied being the player referred to in comments attributed to former Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia during a sting operation. Bedi said he had no involvement in match-fixing or any related activity.
“I would like to clarify certain false and defamatory content circulating on social media and websites concerning me,” Bedi said in his statement. He added that he was not the individual referred to in connection with alleged match-fixing involving a CSK player and denied any involvement in such activity.
Bedi further said his legal team had initiated appropriate civil and criminal proceedings against those responsible for the content. He also urged people not to create or share material that he described as false and defamatory.
According to the player, attempts to associate him with the allegations amounted to defamation. He reiterated that his legal team was taking action and appealed to people to refrain from spreading the claims.
Bedi has been associated with Delhi cricket and previously represented Purani Dilli 6 in the Delhi Premier League. He was subsequently picked by Chennai Super Kings at the IPL auction ahead of the 2025 season.
The controversy comes amid scrutiny over allegations of a corrupt approach during the recently concluded Delhi Premier League. The matter has also been brought to the attention of the relevant authorities, with the Delhi and District Cricket Association communicating the information available to it.
However, the DDCA has stressed that the allegations currently being reported remain unverified and have not been established by any competent authority. The association said it would be inappropriate to reach conclusions about any player, individual or franchise solely on the basis of unverified reports.
The Delhi Premier League’s 2026 season featured eight teams and was played from July 31 to August 30.
Bedi’s denial therefore adds his position to a developing controversy in Indian cricket, while the allegations themselves remain unestablished. The player has maintained that he has no connection with the alleged activities and has indicated that legal proceedings will be pursued against those responsible for linking his name to the claims.
